Burning Man and the Future of Participatory Culture

Blackbox

In this talk Isadora Wronski will be discussing how the philosophy behind Burning Man opens up to new artistic and collaborative processes and how collective creation  is the future solution for individual creatives.

About Burning Man: Every year more then seventy thousand people gather in the desert. Artists, scientist, engineers, builders and people from all walks of life build a city that lasts for a week and then disappears. Rooted in values expressed by Ten Principles, Burning Man is a culture of possibility, a network of dreamers and doers and a global community. The Borderland is a Burning man event taking place in Denmark every year

“When one person dream alone it's just a dream, when meny people dream together it's the beginning of a new reality.”

Isadora Wronski

Isadora Wronski is the Regional Contact for Burning Man in Sweden, and a co-creator of the regional event The Borderland since it started in 2010. She has brought art to the playa, organized camps and most recently the Burning Man European Leadership Summit in Stockholm 2017. Outside Burning Man she works as an International Project Leader for Greenpeace.

Water on Mars juggling

Blackbox

Water on Mars is a show of pure juggling, built using juggling’s natural drama, humor, and airborne geometry. The performance was created by three American/Swedish jugglers who have each spent over 15 years researching how to combine juggling with music, acrobatics, snow, chocolate, tap dance, and 400 roles of tape.

When these three work together on a single project it’s like 3 Jackson Pollock’s sword fighting with paint covered brushes.

Wes Peden

Wes Peden is one third of international juggling company water on Mars. The company is based in  Sweden and consists of the three jugglers Wes Peden (USA), Tony Pezzo (USA), and Patrik Elmnert (SWE) all trained at DOCH. Having just returned from a tour in the US and with an upcoming European tour, we are proud to welcome Wes Peden to Creative.Collective
